- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My grandson who is 17 years old and a diabetic since he was 6 became very ill the other day. He was in severe pain and vomiting uncontollably. He told his mom she needed to call 911. When the fire dept. got there, they said to him, 'Dude, you can't call 911 just because you feel sick' and they refused to take him to the hospital. His mom drove him to the hospital and he was in ICU in diabetic ketoacidosis for a day and a half. He nearly died. The Cathedral City medical responders had refused to help this critically ill child.
